About Face 2024: Gosford Junior Portrait Prize

14 December 2024 - 12 January 2025
Gosford Regional Gallery

About Face, the Gosford Junior Portrait Prize is an exciting opportunity for budding young artists from 5 to 18 years old to demonstrate their drawing talent and compete for a prize pool of $900.

There are four age categories:
•    5-8 year olds
•    9-12 year olds
•    13-15 year olds
•    16-18 year olds

About your portrait subject
The portrait should be of a person who is special to you - someone who is known to you and plays a significant role in your life. We encourage you to draw the portrait ‘FROM LIFE’ and that your subject has a ‘sitting’ for their portrait.

Judging
The competition will be judged by artist Jocelyn Maughan and the Gallery Curator based on merit and originality. First, second and third prizes will be awarded in each category. Each prize winner will receive a giftcard courtesy of the Jocelyn Maughan Art Foundation.

Your artwork
The artwork is strongly encouraged to be drawn from life to be considered for a prize.
