The Big Draw Festival | Dog Trumpet Band and Live Drawing with Michael Bell

Dog Trumpet, one of Australia’s most unique bands has gone global with Demon Music. Reg Mombassa and his brother Peter O'Doherty began their musical careers playing and writing in the ARIA Hall of Fame band Mental As Anything. Peter and Reg are also visual artists, currently showcasing in 25 Moments: Reimagining Twenty-Five Years of Art.  Reg is one of Australia’s most recognised artists well known for his work for the Mambo label, along with graphics, posters, album covers, and many decades of fine art. Peter’s fine art painting focuses on the urban and suburban built environment and is equally well regarded. In collaboration with Dog Trumpet, nationally recognised Michael Bell will draw the live performance - capturing the energy of the musicians. Bell has been selected twice as a finalist in The Archibald Prize and five times in The Sulman Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW. He has designed, graphics, posters and illustrations for ABC Books, Triple J Radio, Mambo and The Castanet Club.

The BIG DRAW Festival is a worldwide celebration of drawing, which unites communities through the power of creativity. Gosford Regional Gallery is excited to be joining ‘The Big Draw Festival 2025: Drawn Together’, hosting a full day event from 10am – 4pm, June 15, 2025. The event will include a series of interactive workshops and performances in the Gallery workshop spaces, Edogawa Gardens and surrounding sites.
