Archibald Prize 2025 Regional Tour

Young Archie Competition

Budding artists aged between 5 and 18 are invited to submit a portrait for the Young Archie competition, as part of our family-focused activities for the Archibald Prize 2025 regional tour.

Artists are asked to create a portrait of a person who is special to them and plays a significant role in their life. Artists are encouraged to paint from life, not from a photograph.

There are four age categories:
•    5-8 year olds
•    9-12 year olds
•    13-15 year olds
•    16-18 year olds 

To be eligible the portrait must be made on A4 paper and be submitted in person to reception at Gosford Regional Gallery by the due date. Please write the artist's name, age and a contact person and a contact number on the back of the artwork. Make sure to REGISTER your entry via the below link.

Key dates
•    Competition opens Saturday 1 November 
•    Entries must be received by Sunday 7 December  
•    Finalists will be displayed 13 December 2025- 14 January 2026
•    Finalists and winners will be announced on Saturday 13 December 11am.
