For Kids

Gosford Regional Gallery has opportunites for kids throughout the year, including after school term classes, school holiday workshops, the Star Kids Competition which is sponsored by Star 104.5, and our annual About Face children's portrait prize.

In addition we have free kids activities available including the children's art space on the foyer verandah and free craft during the school holidays. Feeding the koi fish in the Edogawa Commemorative Garden is also a favourite activity for families.

About Face

About Face is the Gosford Regional Gallery's annual junior portrait prize held over December - January each year and is an exciting opportunity for budding young artists between the ages of 5 and 18.

Portraits should be of a person who is special to you - someone who is known to you and plays a significant role in your life. We encourage you to draw the portrait ‘from life’ and that your subject has a ‘sitting’ for their portrait. A prize pool of $1000 is available.

The competition will be judged by artist Jocelyn Maughan and the Gallery Curator based on merit and originality. First, second and third prizes will be awarded in each category. Each prizewinner will receive a giftcard courtesy of the Jocelyn Maughan Art Foundation.
