Gosford Regional Gallery has opportunites for kids throughout the year, including after school term classes, school holiday workshops, the Star Kids Competition which is sponsored by Star 104.5, and our annual About Face children's portrait prize.
In addition we have free kids activities available including the children's art space on the foyer verandah and free craft during the school holidays. Feeding the koi fish in the Edogawa Commemorative Garden is also a favourite activity for families.

Young Archie Competition
Budding artists aged between 5 and 18 are invited to submit a portrait for the Young Archie competition, as part of our family-focused activities for the Archibald Prize 2025 regional tour.
Artists are asked to create a portrait should be of a person who is special to you - someone who is known to you and plays a significant role in your life.
There are four age categories:
• 5-8 year olds
• 9-12 year olds
• 13-15 year olds
• 16-18 year olds
To be eligible your portrait must be A4 and be submitted in person to reception by the due date with your child's name, age and contact person/number written on the back. Make sure to REGISTER your entry via the below link.

Key dates
• Competition opens Saturday 1 November
• Entries must be received by Sunday 7 December
• Finalists will be displayed 13 December 2025- 14 January 2026
• Finalists and winners will be announced on Saturday 13 December 11am.
